These are the products on a basis of bitumen covering consisted of an oxidized asphalt, warp in a form of a glass fibre veil, glass fabric or polyester mat and mineral surface. The bottom part of the weldable membranes is covered with plastic foil.

The advantages of weldable membranes are that they have a bigger content of asphalt in comparison to traditional papers, there is no need of using additional materials during assembly such as bituminous products and in case of membranes on glass fabric or polyester mat, the greater mechanical strength in comparison to traditional papers.
